Timber construction with vision for the education of the future
Vienna's largest school construction project is underway in Seestadt Aspern with the construction of the new central vocational school - for up to 7,500 pupils and apprentices as well as 350 employees. Three buildings with a gross floor area of over 48,000 m² will unite seven vocational schools under one roof.
A central architectural and sustainable element: timber construction.
Our timber specialists are responsible for the planning of the project and are paying particular attention to the timber construction elements. Construction of the timber construction is scheduled to start in the 3rd quarter of 2026 - but preparations are already in full swing.

- Main building: projecting timber frame outer walls and timber slats perfectly complement the solid concrete construction.
- Office and workshop building: Also in solid concrete, but with a roof structure made of glulam beams up to 17.5 meters long and a cross-laminated timber substructure for the rest of the roof structure.
Our scope of services ranges from detailed planning and costing to interface and trade coordination and the tendering of timber construction services. With our interdisciplinary expertise - from general planning and structural design to sustainability, BIM and LEAN - we ensure, among other things, that timber as a building material is not only used optimally in terms of design, but also functionally and ecologically.
