An appropriate indoor climate and suitable soundproofing in building construction projects

Two central requirements for new buildings are enhanced energy values and low heat loss. Responsible use of resources and a general desire for efficient and sustainable construction have increased the focus on aspects of building physics.

The EU-wide EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) was adopted to reduce buildings’ energy consumption. This means that heat insulation measures for new buildings will be adapted successively until 2020. PORR Design & Engineering offers consultancy in this field and supports the planning process for building construction projects from a building physics perspective. On the one hand, we make recommendations with regard to building regulations and user guidelines; on the other hand, we also provide support in building optimisation in the areas of heat insulation, sound insulation and architectural acoustics above and beyond basic fulfilment of legal requirements, norms and guidelines.
