The ZAM Spaces Freiham MK 2.3 district centre in Munich

The ZAM Spaces Freiham MK 2.3 district centre project in Munich – awarded the DGNB Gold seal – is one of pde's first projects in Germany to successfully undergo the DGNB's ESG verification in accordance with the EU Taxonomy Regulation. The building is also set to receive certification according to the internationally recognised LEED Gold Standard.

As pde, we worked with our team to oversee the entire certification process and ensure that the heart of the new Freiham district is consistently geared towards sustainability.

Sustainable highlights:

  • Built to KfW EG 55 standard (energy-efficient building that consumes a maximum of 55% of the energy used by a comparable reference building)
  • Heating and cooling sails for individual room temperature control
  • Heat supplied via low-temperature district heating network from geothermal energy
  • Curtain walls with high thermal insulation
  • Extensively greened roofs & intensively greened inner courtyards as recreational areas
  • Large-scale PV system for own electricity supply
  • Rainwater utilisation for irrigation of green areas

With a gross floor area of approx. 38,700 m², the building on Mahatma Gandhi Square not only offers space for offices, but also for attractive retail and restaurant space.

A showcase project for sustainable urban development. And we are delighted to have made our contribution to it.
