TGA meets theater – the technology behind the scenes

We planned and implemented the technical building equipment in Berlin's historic Admiralspalast, demonstrating a keen understanding of the structural complexity and high technical requirements.

These were the challenges:

  • Due to the demolition of the neighboring bank building with its central supply facilities: conversion of the district heating, emergency power, and ventilation systems as well as fire extinguishing systems in the existing building – without any downtime!
  • Cramped space and low load-bearing capacity in the old building: required precise planning, lightweight construction, and millimeter-precise coordination
  • Conversion while events were still taking place – including planning and implementation of smoke extraction, emergency power supply, and other technical systems
  • Integration of different areas of use: theater and offices – each with different requirements for climate, acoustics, and control systems

Our services:

  • Comprehensive planning of all building services (HVAC, electrical engineering, building automation) in service phases 2–8
  • BIM-based planning & data-based facility management
  • Conducting a value analysis to optimize efficiency and sustainability
  • Building services coordination from a single source with #fire protection and structural engineering

A challenging project that we successfully mastered with the expertise of our interdisciplinary planning team led by Martin Hahn. Technology that doesn't take center stage—but makes everything possible.
