Standing shoulder to shoulder: York Quartier Münster
In 2020, the joint contribution of Porr West and pde Integrale Planung won the three-stage total contractor competition for the C10 / York Quartier Münster construction site. The completed residential complex, which is subsidised by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, has now been handed over to its users on schedule.
The design of the 4 buildings with a total of 117 residential units plus underground car park was created by our Berlin design team, which was also responsible for the subsequent general planning after winning the competition.
In addition to the design guidelines, which specified the urban structure and materiality, the housing subsidy regulations in particular had to be observed.
Characteristic features include a central inner courtyard with a high quality of stay, around which all parts of the building are grouped, as well as structuring battlements and the use of facing brickwork.
Following the joint competition, the close collaboration and partnership-based project management were also put into practice during planning and construction.
A digital BIM working method and project organisation according to LEAN standards were successfully applied.
All flats have now been let and the outdoor facilities have been completed, and the feedback from users has been consistently positive. Our York Quartier Münster is a successful example of strong teamwork and the endeavour to offer "everything from a single source".
