Digitalisation in the major Koralm Tunnel project

Successfully implementing one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects requires more than just technology – it requires innovative digital methods, a pioneering spirit and close cooperation.

In the Koralm Tunnel, we at pde, together with the PORR Group and our consortium partner Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group, are relying on Building Information Modelling (BIM), LEAN methods and regular virtual design reviews to efficiently coordinate seven trades and around 20 planning partners.

The impressive figures:

• 600 specialist models
• 2,500 plans derived from the specialist models
• Up to 60 participants simultaneously in the virtual space
